Flash Fiction book launch event
By The Holland Times Wednesday 30 November 2011, 11:11
What happens when you bring 10 different writers together to create a 10 chapter fiction piece? You get a Flash Fiction adventure! And it all comes to a head on 9 December at the American Book Center in Amsterdam.
The Holland Times set out an exciting Flash Fiction journey in March of this year. Tapping into the creative talents of our journalists, we asked 10 different writers to contribute one of 10 chapters to the fiction tale: A Bird's Eye View.
The result has been an unexpected unfolding of twists and turns as each new writer has lent their own unique voice and imagination to the surprising tale. The story has evolved to become a truly magnificent fiction piece made possible only with the talents of the international literary community in Holland.
As we near the December finale of A Bird's Eye View, we are gearing up to host a very special event. All 10 chapters of A Bird's Eye View will be published in their entirety elusively at the American Book Center using their revolutionary Espresso Book Machine.
To celebrate this great community effort, we are hosting a Writer's on Demand event at the American Book Center on 9 December at 18.30.
The Flash Fiction writers will be on hand to unveil the full-length book. We will have a guest speaker and light drinks and snacks. And you will have an opportunity to pick up your own copy of A Bird's Eye View.
We hope you will join us to raise a glass to the first Flash Fiction Adventure and join us in a toast to the future of our literary endeavour.
