Dutch return to saving

After hesitancy at the end of 2009, Dutch households have returned to saving. The increase in personal security accounts is revealed by the economic bureau of ING on Wednesday.
Savings in the first quarter of this year grew by an average of 800 million euros per month.
In April, the savings rate increased again. During that month, deposits increased by 1.1 billion euros to a total national savings of 291.3 billion euros.
The motivation to save is rooted in decreased consumer confidence and uncertainty about personal finances, says ING.
