Toothpaste latest prey for criminals

By The Holland Times Monday 21 June 2010, 11:06

Criminals are more often stealing expensive brands of toothpaste. They lurk at supermarkets and drugstores, sometimes making off with hundreds of tubes simultaneously, reports AD Monday.

Expensive brands of toothpaste are apparently the most popular. The products are frequently traded to Poland or Romania, according to a police spokesman.

A spokesman for Albert Heijn tells the newspaper that it is an easy way to make money with such goods. "You can grab toothpaste quite easily. Such a small tube is relatively valuable."
