Queen meets with election winners

Mark Rutte met with Queen Beatrix Friday at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague. The VVD leader was welcomed as the biggest winner in the parliamentary elections held Wednesday.
Rutte was met with the chairmen of all parliamentary parties met with the queen to discuss how they think the coalition can be formed best.
Rutte was the first to meet the Queen because the VVD was the largest winner in the parliamentary elections on Wednesday. Rutte said on arrival that he was "obviously" the prime minister candidate. Also, he said that the situation is "very complex, but there must be a government," he said.
He has advised an informer for Queen Beatrix to discuss making a VVD-led house.
After Rutte, Job Cohen (PvdA) joined the Queen, followed by Geert Wilders (PVV), Maxime Verhagen (CDA) and then successively the other six group leaders. Talks are expected to go well into the evening.
Thursday Beatrix had already spoken with her regular advisers, including Herman Tjeenk Willink (Vice President of the Council of State) and René van der Linden and Gerdi Verbeet, the chairmen of the Senate and House.
