The International Criminal Court has called Naomi Campbell to testify in a war crimes trail. The Hague court is investigating former Liberian president, Charles Taylor for his role in conflict with neighbouring Sierra Leone.

Campbell is expected to reveal the source of a raw diamond, given to her as a gift by Taylor at a 1997 reception in South Africa.

The supermodel, along with actresses Mia Farrow and Carol White will also be summoned by the court.

Taylor is accused of instigating civil war between Liberia and Sierra Leone and the exploitation of the country's resources and diamond fields, reports the Associated Press on Thursday.

Taylor's lawyers have argued that calling such witnesses drudges up outdated evidence from over 1.5 years ago. However, judges ruled Wednesday that the information is still relevant to the trial.
