Dartsman Christian Kist received a hero's welcome in his hometown of Vroomshoop this week, following his win at the 2012 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships. About 1,500 people gathered in the town's main square to greet the world's number one.
Kist also stopped in Twente where a massive crowd of supporters gathered in Oranjeplein to applaud the champion.
The 25-year-old former road worker won the world title in a surprise finish, beating Englishman Tony O'Shea 7-5 to take home the world title and 100,000 GPB.
Kist was previously ranked 13th in the world.
