Over five million Dutch people watched the home team World Cup match against Japan on Saturday. A six million peak audience was recorded shortly before the end of the game.
The second World Cup match for the Netherlands was by far the most watched TV program Saturday, according to the research organisation Kijkonderzoek.
NIS's live stream of the game hit a peak of 59,000 viewers, with about half of that number coming during the game.
The direct NIS report of the marriage of the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria with Daniel Westling attracted nearly 1.4 million viewers.
