Unemployment up in March

The unemployment rate in March rose by 2,000 persons to a total 465,000. That is 5.9 percent of the workforce, according to de Volkskrant.
Citing figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the newspaper revealed youth unemployment at a higher rate in March 2012 than in 2011..
Data from benefits agency UWV shows 296,000 people received unemployment benefits in March, 3,000 fewer than in February, but up 25,000 compared to March 2011 figures.
The number of benefits rose most for those between 35 and 55-years-old.
