Dutch Eurovision dreams dashed

By The Holland Times Thu. 24 May 2012

The second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest held in Bakue, Azerbaijan has finished, and the Netherlands has unfortunately not made the grade.
You and Me, sung by Turkish-Dutch singer Joan Franka, was the Dutch entry for the event, which featured 18 acts throughout the show, each representing a participating country. The ten winners who will go on to the grand final on 26 May are Lithuania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Ukraine, Sweden, FYR Macedonia, Norway, Estonia, Malta and Turkey.
Voting for the final was conducted via televote for all 18 participating countries. Votes from a professional jury were then combined with the televote results to select the winning acts.
The grand final will take place on Saturday 26 May, followed by a winner's press conference the following day, Sunday 27 May. The show can be watched streaming via the Eurovision.tv website.
