Top street artists in “Stick Together: AMSTERDAM”
By The Holland Times Thu. 21 March 2013
An all-star line up with over 20 of Europe’s most talented urban artists are confirmed to create live art and show work in a street art setting inside a historic hanger, free to the public, at tape artist Max Zorn’s Stick Together: AMSTERDAM event 6 and 7 April, 2013 at Amsterdam Roest.
Stick Together is a project that spreads street art around the world for free. Max Zorn takes it to the next level in the 85-square-meter space, to reveal the ripeness of today’s street art culture. The large space at Amsterdam Roest will mimic a city street embellished in urban art, with everything from spray murals to stencils, statues, graffiti, paste ups, yarn bombing and more.
Artists have been encouraged to create live throughout the weekend while visitors walk through and watch on in this street setting, including a 90-minute live art battle between two artist teams where the audience determines the winner.
To show his support for the event, Max Zorn will take on the challenge to create the largest artwork ever created with brown packing tape. For promotion, Max Zorn will publicly be taping daily against the large windows of café Canvas op de 7e starting 25 March, 2013, from 11.00 to 17.00. The piece is currently estimated to be over two square meters in size.
“The event gives street artists the chance to see their audience, while giving the public a chance to see how street art is created. Both opportunities are a rare thing,” says Max Zorn, who uses brown tape on acrylic glass to hang on street lamps worldwide.
Entrance for all event is free and open to the public and media.
